The final lap of the 1961 German GP was a furious one for Wolfgang von Trips and Phil Hill. Both were driving the ‘Sharknose’ Ferrari 156 and both wanted to benefit from each other’s slipstream, slowing down to 70kph in the process. Von Trips gave the car full throttle - a staggering 9800rpm - but spun his machine in the process after hitting a patch of water. Hill, in the meantime, was experiencing exactly the same fate resulting in a synchronised spin of Sharknose Ferraris. It must have been quite a sight.
Large Limited Edition Art Prints: Limited to 20, the special-edition giclee prints are signed and numbered by Rachael Clegg and come with a certificate of authenticity and accompanying story text.
Paper and shipping specification:
The prints measure 841 by 594mm and are printed with archival pigment inks onto Innova cotton paper, which is Acid and Lignin free. Each print is hand-rolled in craft paper and shipped in a rigid postal tube.
