It was at Milntown where the TT’s rescue helicopter made its debut exactly 60 years ago. Its first customer was rider Tony Godfrey, who crashed his 250cc works Yamaha during the 1963 Lightweight TT. Thanks to his air rescue the rider was able to receive urgent treatment for his life-threatening injuries.
