Adenau is part of Rachael Clegg’s Nürburgring series, in which every image illustrates a story about Europe’s most treacherous, twisting, challenging racing circuit. All images are designed and modelled by Rachael and shot - on location - by Ian Parry at the epic Nordschleife circuit. Each image ‘recreates’ a specific event in the Nürburgring’s history at the exact spot that event happened.

The story: 

One man who flew down this stretch of circuit towards Adenau was Jimmy Stewart, whose brakes failed during the Eifelrennen Sports Car practice in 1952.  Stewart was driving his Ecurie Ecosse when he realised he couldn’t brake. “I was furiously pumping the brakes but nothing happened,” said Stewart, “The car went through the hedge and upside-down but I managed to switch off the ignition with my foot.” Luckily Stirling Moss saw he was struggling, pulled him from the car and gave him a lift back.

Images are printed on matt Photo Rag 308 gram/m² paper. Each print is carefully hand-rolled in craft paper and shipped in a rigid postal tube. Prices include worldwide shipping. Prints are available in three sizes:
