Fuchsröhre Graham Hill is part of Rachael Clegg’s Nürburgring series, in which every image illustrates a story about Europe’s most treacherous, twisting, challenging racing circuit. All images are conceived and designed by Rachael and shot - on location - by Ian Parry at the epic Nordschleife circuit. Each image ‘recreates’ a specific event in the Nürburgring’s history at the exact spot that event happened.

The story:

Practice for the 1962 German Grand Prix practice session proved to be an eventful one for Ringmeister Graham Hill. As Hill raced down the Fuchsrohe (German for ‘fox hole’) he hit what he described as a ‘large black object’ in the middle of the track. The ‘object’ in question was a TV camera which Carel de Beaufort had fixed to his Porsche. Hill attempted to miss the object and ran straight over it. The camera pierced his oil tank and sent his car spinning into a ditch ‘rather like a giant mole at great speed - tearing off wheels and suspension bits,’ as Hill described. And all in the name of television!

Images are printed on matt Photo Rag 308 gram/m² paper. Each print is carefully hand-rolled in craft paper and shipped in a rigid postal tube. Prices include worldwide shipping. Prints are available in three sizes:
