ANTONIUSBUCHE

ANTONIUSBUCHE

from £490.00

Antoniusbuche is part of Rachael Clegg’s Nürburgring series, in which every image illustrates a story about Europe’s most treacherous, twisting, challenging racing circuit. All images are designed and modelled by Rachael and shot - on location - by Ian Parry at the epic Nordschleife circuit. Each image ‘recreates’ a specific event in the Nürburgring’s history at the exact spot that event happened.

The story:

The final lap of the 1961 German GP was a furious one for Wolfgang von Trips and Phil Hill. Both were driving the ‘Sharknose' Ferrari 156 and both wanted to benefit from each other’s slipstream, slowing down to 70kph in the process. Trips gave the car full throttle  -  a staggering  9800rpm - but spun the car in the process after hitting a patch of water. Hill, in the meantime, was experiencing exactly the same fate resulting in a synchronised spin of Sharknose Ferraris. It must have been quite a sight.
